Mr. Joseph most recently has served for 11 years as CEO of Hartford HealthCare (HHC) a large, highly integrated regional healthcare delivery system. Under his leadership HHC has grown annual revenue from $1 billion to $4.2 billion, with operating performance improving from breakeven to 5% operating margin and 10% EBITDA margins while securing bond ratings in A stable-positive category. These results were achieved while disrupting the traditional hospital model with current revenue mix of 52% outpatient.

Today, HHC is the largest home care company ($130 million) in CT; the largest behavioral health company ($100 million) in CT; and provides over 300 sites of care including a broad footprint in ambulatory surgery, diagnostic imaging and urgent care.

Additionally, HHC built an 800 member medical group and created a clinically integrated organization, Integrated Care Partners, with over 2,000 providers. Recently, he established a Joint Venture Medicare Advantage Plan with Tufts health plan to serve CT.

Mr. Joseph is currently serving as advisor/board member to several private equity portfolio companies. Additionally he is Chairman of the Press Ganey Advisory Board and a faculty member for the Mckinsey Bower Forum. He has served in board and advisory roles with the American Hospital Association, The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, Connecticut Hospital Association Board and Finance Committee Chair; Greater New York Hospital Association, GNYHA Ventures Corporation, and has chaired Hartford HealthCare Indemnity Services LTD Board. He is currently Chair of the Health Insights Board.

He holds a Masters of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan (where he serves on the Griffith Leadership Center Advisory Board and is on the search committee to recruit a new chair for the Department of Health Management and Policy); Wharton School CEO Program for Healthcare Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York.
